On Sep 25 and 26, 2024, authorization in Dyport and VPN will be switched
from minigroups to central group management.
The OpenVPN service is not affected.
The following procedure is planned:
# 25.9. from 15:00
- end of access to the minigroup portal
(https://minigroups.zih.tu-dresden.de)
- i.e. no new entries or changes in the minigroups are possible from
this time onwards
# 25.9. 15:00 to 26.9. 13:00
- transfer of all minigroups used for network access to the central
group administration
# 26.9. 13:00 to 14:00
- no access to the dyport portal (https://dyport.zih.tu-dresden.de)
- there will be a short period of time (less than 1 min) during which it
will not be possible to log in to the network with Dyport or VPN
# 26.9. presumably from 14:00
- the minigroups will then be available as groups in the SSP with the
existing members and administrators (creators)
- network access (Dyport or VPN) will then be based on these groups
What will change?
- the names of the groups will then be tud-[minigroupsname]
- all creators of the minigroups are administrators of these groups
- the owner of the groups is initially a function login of the ZIH
(grmgnetz)
- the “Netzzugang” service is assigned to the groups
- member of each group is the function login ldyport, this is used for
the deputy function in Dyport
- an additional group tud-dyport-manager-[institute] is created for
admin-team minigroups, whose members have the right to act as deputies
in the Dyport portal
- the admin-team group only serves to provide network access for the
members, because this group has provided both functions in minigroups
How can you help us as an admin?
- if people need a new network access during this time, please enter it
before September 25, 3:00 p.m.
- as an alternative, the guest network, the VPN tu-dresden.de or OpenVPN
can also be used temporarily
- if, contrary to expectations, a device no longer ends up in the
correct network after the changeover, please create a ticket with the
relevant data
