Replacement of 392 Wifi access points

In the period from 04.11.2024 to 22.11.2024, the WLAN access points in the following buildings that no longer meet the current requirements will be replaced by a newer model series. In addition, a different manufacturer (Aruba) will also be introduced in some buildings. These buildings are also listed separately below.

Each access point that has been replaced will then be down for up to one working day from commissioning, as the new devices can be set up and configured from 15:30 at the earliest.

The replacement will be carried out by Telekom as an external service provider. Please grant access to the rooms where necessary. If you are unable to grant access in person, please leave a note on the office door with information about a contact person who can ensure access (e.g. secretary's office). It is currently not possible to estimate exactly when which building will be affected.

No noisy or dust-intensive work is required to replace Cisco devices. In the buildings where the Aruba devices are used, it may be necessary to drill new holes for mounting plates.

It is not possible to schedule exactly when which appliances will be replaced. For a rough guide, the buildings are listed in the order in which they will be processed. The replacement will take place between 8:30 and 15:00.

The Cisco access points will be replaced in the following buildings:

- TRE (nur Rechnergebäude)
- WIL (nur A-Flügel und Verbinder A - B)
