[Update] Matrix: Maintenance work for the changeover to version 2.0, extended to 23-JAN-2025, 6 p.m. (beendet)

If the home server address "tu-dresden.de" is not accepted by Element Desktop, please delete the program's cache. Replace <user> in the following paths with the account name of your operating system.

Linux:
/home/<user>/.config/Element/Cache
oder
/home/<user>/.config/Riot/Cache

macOS:
With the Finder open, select “Go to” in the menu bar, then hold down the Option key and go to the “Library” entry. Then navigate to the “Application Support” folder, “Element” (for older installations “Riot”) and delete the cache folder there.

/Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Element/Cache
or
/Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Riot/Cache

Windows:
You can either copy the path below with your account name into the address bar of Windows Explorer or navigate there manually, but you must have activated the display of hidden folders and files in Explorer.

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Element\Cache
or
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Riot\Cache

- File upload is possible again.
[Update 22.01.24 - 15:30]
- Login is possible again using the previous method and the home server address “synapse.matrix.tu-dresden.de”.
[Update 21.01.24 - 18:00]
- The Federation is active again.
[Update 21.01.24 - 16:00]
- Login is currently not yet possible.
- Files cannot be sent.
- Federation with other Matrix servers is not yet possible.

[Update] The maintenance work will be delayed until around 4 p.m. - we ask for your understanding.

On 21.01.2025 Matrix will not be available from 07:00 am - 10:00 am due to maintenance work.

During this time, the service will be supplemented with fundamentally new and updated software components. These will enable the introduction of Matrix 2.0 at TU Dresden.
Login to the Matrix service will then take place via Shibboleth.
